Lou Penning Landscapes, Inc. - Environmental Policy
As gardeners we have a keen
interest in protecting your water, soil and air resources. For your garden,
we will employ sustainable gardening practices which include:
Sustainable gardening practices:
-
Low
impact gardening practices include seeking out the safest products to use
in your garden.
-
We
will apply chemical products only when necessary and only on pests that
are a threat to your plants’ life.
-
To
lessen the fertilizer load on our streams and rivers we will minimize
water-soluble fertilizers and increase our use of organic based products.
-
You
will receive recommendations for plants and designs that will use less of
your water, fertilizers and chemical products.
-
We
will be observing Spare the Air Days and will only use our blowers if
requested by you. Mowing may be skipped if possible. Edging will be
skipped. Spare the Air Days usually occur on hot days and we can spend
extra time on your water system or other details.
-
We
recycle and reuse everything possible. All of your yard debris is removed
and composted.
-
To
better serve you and save your water, our staff takes continuing
education. We are truly experts in irrigation design and installation.
